“So often we dwell on the things that seem impossible rather than on the things that are possible. So often we are depressed by what remains to be done and forget to be thankful for all that has been done.” — Marian Wright Edelman
On this day when we all gather together and give thanks, this quote reminds me to focus on what I have accomplished rather than dwell on what remains to be done.
This blog is a perfect example. I am about to embark on an ambitious project that can feel both overwhelming and impossible at times. Yet, I must remember that the very act of bringing this blog into existence was an accomplishment. It’s been a goal of mine for several years but for one reason or other I always postponed it. Here I am, though, with a blog that gets a little better with every post. And what a satisfying moment it is, each time I hit “publish.”
