This week begins with the end of the month and so I thought I’d take a little time to reflect on what has happened this month at tinsel + trim and elsewhere. Monthly recaps on other blogs tend to be full of projects, activities and popular posts. I hope to be in that position someday soon, but this month was a sleepy one with only one activity post about a photo booth party.
That said, it has not been without success. I hit my 50 post milestone, which is a wonderful thought when for years the notion of having a blog was just a daydream.
This month, too, has been the start or continuation of two series, this one – Fresh Start – and Friday Rewind. Having committed to these without faltering has been no small feat (okay maybe small, but not insignificant). It’s not easy choosing more work over rest after a long day. It’s also helped me develop a discipline that going forward will lead to more DIY projects and special series.
While the blog hasn’t been particularly busy this month, there has been behind-the-scenes activity. I’ve been organizing, planning and making. This past weekend, I worked on four different projects, three of which will be on the blog soon (the other was a fail to share another day!)
A month from now I look forward to having more to reflect upon and share. One of the biggest life lessons for me, is that when you care about something you have to just dive in. Learn and grow as you go but don’t wait for perfection to land at your doorstep or it’ll never happen.
Here’s to a fresh and evolving start!
