Greetings from Paris! We’re on day three of our adventure and so far it’s been a wet one. But with the rain comes beautiful breaks of sunshine, including a double rainbow over Notre Dame on Saturday! I packed too optimistically and have been without a raincoat or warmer wears. A shopping excursion may be in order but in the meantime, I’m grateful for having packed with layering in mind.
We are about to head out to an Eric Kayser Boulangerie for some warm and delicious bread (and sweets) before we decide on how to spend the rest of our morning. We may choose to go to a cemetery, a graffiti laden street, an antiques market or a combination of the three. In the afternoon we will meet up with the photography workshop for a tour of Saint Germain des Prés, an area of the 6th arrondissement, which includes the Church of Saint Sulpice, the Cour du Commerce St. Andre, and the Institute de France. I’m also hoping to have some time to venture over to Deyrolle, a taxidermy store, and Le Bon Marché, a fancy pants department store. If we have any energy left over after dinner, we’ll hit up one of the few museums that are both open on Mondays and stay open late.
I’ll share more quick updates throughout the week and once I’m back stateside, I’ll get it all organized into a nice summary of my favorite spots and any tips I pick up along the way. Thanks for joining me on this incredible journey!
Here’s to an adventure-filled week!
