Today I played hooky from the photo workshop to go out on my own. It turns out I chose a good day too because the weather was beautiful and my plans included multiple parks. I started with the Promenade plantée, an elevated park much like the High Line in New York City. It was beautiful with many flowers in bloom and children at play. At another park, Parc de Bercy, I encountered Parisians enjoying their lunches with friends. I also spotted a mama moorhen with her chicks scuttling about looking for their own lunchtime meal.
From there I set about finding my way to a few arts & crafts stores and haberdasheries (ribbons, beads and other notions). The last of the stores was La Droguerie, possibly the most amazing place on earth! I splurged on a number of items that will soon become DIYs on the blog. I can’t wait to share them with you!
Tomorrow, we head to Versailles for the day. It looks like the rain will take a break midday when I’ll make sure to step away from the grandiose rooms and into the garden. I can’t wait to share those snapshots – you can hardly take a bad picture in a place like that!
