Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a week already! With only a few days left, and many place closed Sundays and Mondays, I took the opportunity to do some shopping in between museums. Unfortunately, my museum endeavors were a bit of a miss. I went to the Jeu de Paume to see a Vivian Maier exhibit only to learn they have a “countryside” location as well, which is where her works was being shown. On the bright side, I picked up a book about women photographers from their bookstore.
Since I was right by the Tuileries Garden, I decided to walk toward the Louvre. Halfway there, a torrential downpour took many people by surprise. People sought shelter under trees and, as seen in the image above, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel.
After the rain subsided and I had a bit of lunch, I headed to several home goods and craft shops including Petit Pan, Merci, Bonton, Balouga, Papier Tigre and L’illustre Boutique. At the latter, I picked up a block print of a pig who fashioned himself a pair of wings. It’s adorable and has just a touch of French appeal.
Next, I’ll be off to a pet cemetery were Rin Tin Tin is buried among 40,000 other beloved cats, dogs, birds, and hamsters, etc., From there, I’ll go a bit outside of Paris to see the world’s oldest veterinary school and museum.
