Last week the world lost two important and beloved people, Massimo Vignelli and Maya Angelou. It’s all too often that at these moments of grief and mourning we take the time to reconnect with what endeared us to them in the first place. For Maya Angelou, I had chills hearing her poetry again after too many years. I also learned, for the first time, that she was a dancer before she became a notable author and poet. The images of her as a young woman are breathtaking, I especially love this one.

Browsing the bevy of imagery, videos and words just impressed upon me more than ever what a great gift we received by her being a part of this world and this lifetime.
