I hope you had a wonderful July 4th weekend! Mine went slightly askew but was pretty good on the whole.
This week’s quote is by personal finance expert, Nathan W. Morris. While it’s sound advice for setting financial goals, I find it applicable in just about every aspect of my life. I have a lifelong tendency to overcommit. My eyes are definitely bigger than my stomach, or in this case, my time and my capacity.
I’ve been slowly working toward reducing my commitments so I can focus on what I care about most. This includes a daily reminder in my Teux Deux list to just say “no.” It’s not about being less helpful but being more intentional and accountable to when I do say “yes.”
If you feel randomized and overwhelmed by too many things to do, join me this week by letting go of “yes” and getting to know “no.”
