This past holiday weekend brought a special treat for Seattle – snow! It’s still on the ground too, which is quite unusual for it to have lasted so long. It’s not much. Certainly not enough for people to stay home from work on account of “not wanting to risk it,” but it’s a rare enough occurrence that it’s worthy of a little celebration.
I love waking up to freshly fallen snow and the quiet that comes with it. I love the crisp cold air and clear skies too. It was all the more special this year because it arrived just as we were going to get our first real Christmas tree for our new place. Walking among all the noble firs dusted with snow was both picturesque and reminiscent of my midwest childhood.
Here’s to the start of a new month and the official countdown to the holidays. Wishing you and yours a carefree month filled with many quiet, shared moments among the snow or in front of a fire.
