Happy Monday!
I had a pretty decent weekend, you? I made my first foraged wreath at the Pantry in Delancey here in Seattle. It was a rainy, dreary day outside but inside I was surrounded by homey holiday decor, wonderful aromas from the sourdough class next door, and equally lovely aromas from all the foraged greenery for the wreaths. It was rather meditative to watch the instructor demo the do’s and do not’s of wreath-making and equally satisfying making my own. My guy suggested the class though it is nothing he’d ever choose for himself, which made me appreciate the class—and time spent with him—all the more.
The downside to the weekend was being stuck next to the bathroom on a NYC-bound airplane. I’m sitting there now, as I write this, and the aromas are a treacherous blend far from the soothing smells of Saturday’s class.
Today’s quote comes from the founder of The Body Shop. Anita Roddick was both an entrepreneur and an activist, seeking a better planet and safer products for us all. As a person who does a few things fairly well, I often feel just adequate and average. As I look ahead to 2017 and beyond, I want to move toward better. For me, that means narrowing my focus to just a few things to which I can devote meaningful time and attention.
Here’s wishing you a week of better.
