On this new day in a new year, I hope you find yourself filled with the warmth of encouragement and possibility. I will spend today in the quiet comfort of home, enjoying the last bit of respite before work resumes. The week between Christmas and New Years I spent indulging in many pet projects, including this blog. I conquered the basement—a silent torment lurking below me for far too long. I updated my address book, dropped off donations at Goodwill, washed the car, and checked off many more items on my to do list with flare and flurry. It was work of a different sort. It gave me time to tend to my home and myself and to do so before the new year. Now, I feel more prepared with less to carry over. It may not be the most exciting way to spend a holiday break but it’s just as I wanted and as a reward for a hard week’s work, I feel a sense of both contentment and renewal. I feel more ready and eager to forge ahead with new projects and creative endeavors in 2018 knowing that I have it within me to do both what I want and what I need.
To encourage you and me both to embrace and encourage our possibilities, below are a few quotes from the Fresh Start archives.
