My thanks to all those who have visited over the years. I’ll keep the blog and all its projects and posts hosted but will not be contributing any new content going forward (as of May 2019).
This blog was born of a desire to get back to my childhood roots of creativity and exploration through crafting. I’d gone too many years without making time for crafts and it slowly ate at me. This blog was the fix. In the beginning, it motivated and inspired me. It challenged me to discover new techniques and ideas that I couldn’t wait to try. I also met many wonderful women and fellow bloggers along the way.
Over time, it became a lot of work—especially photographing all of the projects—and I started to have less fun. I also came to realize that my primary motivation came to be about the blog and not about what I was crafting. It took a long time to accept, but the blog had served its purpose. It’d gotten me back to analog creativity and crafting.
Looking ahead, I plan to spend time on slow crafts. The kinds of crafts that take longer but that are far less disposable. I’m working on a few right now, including a couple of modern, deconstructed quilts inspired by a creative retreat with Jess Brown last year. I’m also exploring different techniques for indoor plant-scapes, which is endlessly challenging and rewarding. All-in-all, it’s just where I need to be and I’m so thankful to this blog for getting me here.
All the best and warmest wishes to you and your craft adventures!
